The Pilot and the Gyroscope

The mechanical principles of physics which define the behavior and functions of a gyroscope can be used to more easily understand how Spiritual Principles provide equivalent guidance and direction in one's life.

Main Ideas:

The gyroscopic navigation instruments in an airplane are analogous to the presence of Spiritual principles in your life
If you are a pilot who attempts to fly in weather in which fog or clouds obscure your direct reference to the ground, within a matter of minutes you will quickly become totally confused about what your airplane is actually doing, especially if there is turbulence affecting your airplane.   Your senses (reality) may convincingly tell you that your airplane is surely climbing to the right, when it is actually (Reality) descending to the left.  If you manipulates the controls to conform to what your material senses are telling you, then the abnormal attitude of your airplane is increased instead of decreased.  Within five to 10 anguished minutes, either the airplane is caused to crash into the ground, or it experiences such stress from the extreme maneuvers you impose that it comes apart in fight.  Your death (and also those who trusted you, and perhaps additional innocent persons on the ground) is the certain outcome.
The Spiritually anchored Laws called the "Physics of Flight," are not directly visible to the human senses, but their effects are clearly visible.  The gyroscope and its benefits are designed to guide the pilot when he cannot see the ground (Reality.) It provides information to the pilot that reflects the actual attitude (not altitude, a different instrument) of the airplane with respect to the ground (Reality).  The pilot is constantly informed about the attitude (positioning in three dimensional space) of the airplane, whether or not it is pointed up or down so as to climb or descend,  or whether it is changing direction (i.e., turning right or left.)  The pilot is trained to interpret the gyroscope's information (relate to Reality) that is displayed on the the instrument panel. Using that information, regardless what his/her material senses are telling her/him, a pilot keeps the airplane's attitude correct, whether as straight and level flight, or for intentionally climbing or descending, or for intentionally turning direction as required by the flight plan. Then the result in clouds is the same during instrument flight as with visual flight with direct reference the ground.
The performance of the mechanical gyroscope is without emotion and it is designed only to present the correct attitude information to the pilot. It exercises no judgment.  In effect, it is "hardwired" to Reality.  In order to survive as a pilot, you must accept its information even when powerfully contradicted by your senses. The information it provides is Truth.  But first, you must be exquisitely trained to deny the illusions of your material senses (reality,) and instead interpret the gyroscope's Truthful  information and relate it to the airplane's actual attitude with reference the ground (Reality.) To accomplish this you must learn to overcome the compelling but false information from your senses about the airplane's apparent attitude.  Every instrument certified pilot will remember the scale of this challenge at the beginning of training.  If you as the pilot cannot resist the enormous and almost overpowering demands of your senses, and instead faithfully follow the Real information from the gyroscopic instruments, your flight and you are in serious danger.
Likewise the Laws of Spirit are not visible to the human senses either. Therefore, the ability to recognize their effects and benefit from them requires an awakened Spiritual Consciousness (i.e., the active presence of a working Spiritual Gyroscope.)

Life is R.A.W. REALITY ALWAYS WINS!!  There is always a perfect, patient, implacable Justice in THE LAW.   THEREFORE, A PILOT WHO CRASHES HAS NOT SUFFERED "THE WRATH OF GRAVITY" BUT HAS REAPED THE NATURAL CONSEQUENCES (KARMA) OF HIS/HER OWN ACTION WITHIN THE LAWS OF FLIGHT.  AND SO IT IS WITH EVERY EXPRESSION OF HUMANITY'S BEHAVIOR WITHIN "THE LAW" OF TRUTH (GOD).  EVERY HUMAN BEING IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERY DIMENSION AND ACTION THAT IS A PART OF AND A CONSEQUENCE OF HUMAN THOUGHT AND BEHAVIOR.

Applications in "The World:"

failure to respect the Laws of Spirit lead to the same kind of disastrous outcome to your well thought plans as failure to follow the guidance of an airplane's gyroscope when you cannot see the ground.  While the effects of absent or ineffectual Spiritual influences may not always be so dramatic as a crashed airplane, many lives are slowly "crashed," warped, cheated, or ruined by such failure.
while an airplane's gyroscope operates solely to relate the attitude of the airplane to the ground, a Spiritual Gyroscope operates to confirm the relationship of your life's values to the pattern of choices you create. It directs how you can use the Laws of Love and the harmonious, effective, productive, and happy consequences that Love nourishes,
to accept the early warnings from the behavior of the gyroscopic instruments when flying an airplane in severe icing conditions can prevent a pilot from attempting to continue flight into those icing conditions.  To fly beyond the point where in spite of the engine(s) operating at full power, but after the aircraft's wings and control surfaces have become so seriously deformed by the accumulated weight and shape of ice build up, the pilot must then suffer a sudden complete loss of the aircraft's ability to maintain stable flight.  Then the pilot and crew will assuredly experience a sudden irrecoverable loss of control that results in a certain fatal crash. 
likewise, your Spiritual Gyroscope can warn you in advance of potentially unwise decisions, predict the nature of outcomes from alternative plans, allow you to find and relate to trustworthy people and organizations, and direct your energy and influence into worthy causes and social systems.  A active and valid Spiritual gyroscope is required as a precondition for you to:

. detect the presence and significance of critical events in your life,
. interpret the Spiritual significance of events in your society and the world,
. evaluate our social policies and practices in accordance with Spiritual Law,
. recommend and defend Spiritually healthy programs, practices, and policies. and become aware that

This required level of Spiritual Consciousness is dangerously absent  from those who now direct the fate of our society, and our social and cultural institutions (i.e., they suffer from absent or defective Spiritual gyroscopes.)   Worse even that that, the electorate itself has demonstrated its own Spiritual impoverishment by succumbing to the pattern of lies and deception orchestrated by the political and religious right wing to have promoted, nurtured, and elected this evil to high political offices in the elections of 2000 and 2004.

THE RESULTS  OF THE MID TERM ELECTIONS OF 2006  SUGGESTS THAT THE PUBLIC APPEARS TO BE CATCHING ON!    BUT THEY HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT THE PARADIGM
THAT MOST ACCURATELY EXPLAINS CURRENT DILEMMAS AND GUIDES WHAT MUST BE DONE TO ADEQUATELY CONFRONT AND CORRECT THESE EVILS.

Implications for Subsequent Material:
The nature of our Spiritual gyroscope will evolve through the allegories found in this section of OT/MP.  You will have to look for its presence or absence indirectly, i.e., by assessing the effects of the presence or absence of this Gyroscope, or whether or not it is operating correctly.  An understanding of the Laws of Karma and Reincarnation will show the nature and effects of our Spiritual Gyroscope as it directs our path into Spiritual awakening through Karmic learning experiences. The nature of these experiences fulfill our deserved perfect Justice which directs the nature of our Karma and Reincarnation.

The Man with Seven Lives:

This story illustrates the nature of our evolving C/consciousness as observed in the interactive process of Karma and Reincarnation (K&R.) These characters, disguised, also appear in the Epilogue's concluding allegory of The Infernal Catechism of the Secret Society of Power Brokers and Power Mongers. The complex nature of this process has been evident only to relatively few persons in the western world, though it has been central to much of far eastern Spirituality for hundreds of centuries. This is because, in our unconsciousness, the worldly influences we focus on have not appeared relevant or affirming of the vital process of K&R and its supporting information.  Reincarnation was among the many Truths expunged from early Christianity by the apostolic successors during the first 500 years of the common era (CE.) [Review the fate of the Gnostic Christians at the hands of the Proto-orthodox Christians (who became the establishment church) after 200 CE, i.e., by the end of the first two centuries after Jesus.]

Knowledge of the dynamics of K&R is vital to understanding the dynamics of how Spiritual Consciousness affects our lives.  The parable is a great oversimplification of what is in fact an enormously subtle and complex process. This process cannot be accurately and fully grasped by any human intellect at any level. Understanding the dynamics of K&R can only be approximated as in the steps of the parable.

These steps create a "picture by the numbers" of the outworking of the Principles of K&R.  The story is a simple outline of what is in fact a rich and finely detailed multidimensional mosaic evolving over many lifetimes over many centuries.  All of us are subject to it. Each of us is fulfilling some part of our Karmic debt now, during this lifetime.  Few recognize the opportunity present in the experiences that are directed by our karmic legacy.

Main Ideas:

the story illustrates the interactive effects of K&R.  K&R assures the outworking of Divine Justice in the world of the ego's intellect. But the ego intellect is powerless to comprehend the outworking of K&R.   It is the process and operation that is stated by scripture in the words of the Biblical injunction:  "Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow?" [Gal 6:7] the process of K&R is relentless and unavoidable. It can only be transcended by your capacity to respond to an awakened and advanced Spiritual Consciousness.
Job's evolution as a human, (as offered by the MP) has been underway since the beginning of his Consciousness when first formed in the Mind of GOD.  We join his progress during his life as Trapper Job.
Karma takes time to "ripen."  It is not always resolved within the same lifetime, it waits for its Perfect Manifestation.  Hence we find the progression of lives experienced by Job.
in each life, Job advances through each new stage of a more expanded and inclusive C/consciousness. At each level he is beset with the unfinished business of unresolved Karma from his prior lives.
notice the pattern, the trend of Karmic progression through his seven lives.  From rude and crude, through progressive stages of increasing insight, compassion, and altruism. Finally he is smooth and clear minded, a radiant Spiritual beacon of Love and Light.  After he has finished to the level of Consciousness evolution available within our earth style human limitations, his continuing progress will occur in the higher realm of Spirit only accessible in the Supra Consciousness. notice that as he progresses, he becomes more reflective, insightful, patient, and altruistic.  He becomes less capable of harming others to serve his own ego driven needs.  His ego needs are steadily brought under the control of Spiritual Consciousness. These are signs of Spiritual progress that empowers the Pilgrim to  join with the ultimate Path of Love.  You can estimate the Spiritual development of yourself and others through the reliable appearance of these dimensions in daily life.  Contemplate where you are in this dynamic process of Spiritual growth and evolution?

Applications in "The World:"

the interactive effects of K&R can be used to interpret much what is happening in the world at every level of system complexity, from individuals, through corporate decisions, through the behavior of nations, and international systems.
an objective review of your own life will reveal to you small examples of how you have made your self a beneficiary of, or a victim of, short term Karma.  Once you better understand the dynamics of K&R from the more detailed information in dialogue 6, you will wonder why you have never noticed these relationships before as they can then become so obvious. The younger you are, the easier to see the effects if they are already present. But the older you are, the better your insights into your Spiritual progress will be, especially when your life is rich in examples of the long term effects of K&R available to examine.  [I share with you a glimpse of my Spiritual Path as directed by my K&R in the "About the Author" section of OT/MP.]

Implications for Subsequent Material:
The effects of the endless cycle of relentless K&R are surmountable only by an informed application of Spiritual Truth.  Those who develop True Spiritual Insights, like Guru Joe, can transcend  the attachments, the "net of pain" that defines life on the earth.  This transcendence is a central dictum of Buddhist philosophy and teaching, and of the original Gnostic teachings of Jesus [Robinson, 1988] before they were altered and expunged by the apostolic successors.

The Train that Left the Station

This story is about the Train of K&R that delivers us to our earthly birth, places us in a city with the characteristics for Spiritual growth that we have earned through the nature of our Karma.

Main Ideas:

the child who became the old man symbolizes a single life time of a Soul
the "train" symbolizes our path as directed by Karma from one Reincarnation to another.
each "city" defines a unique constellation of experiences (conscious ideas, thoughts, memories) that have been prepared to instruct the Soul in what it needs to know in order to transcend its material bondage.  The man remains condemned to repeatedly take the "wrong" train until his Spiritual Consciousness informs him of the pattern of error that he has experienced over many lifetimes.  He must then follow that Spiritual awareness to raise his mental consciousness to a level required for him to break that pattern. Then he can recognize and afford the price of a Spiritual ticket for the train that can take him to the "Ideal" city.
the "city of evil" is the harshest experience reserved for those who selfishly, willfully and knowingly inflict harm, confusion, distress, pain, or suffering on others.  These actions stop them from finding the right train for them.  This city focuses on punishments in which the Soul receives the same kind of treatment the Soul has once brought to others, not as acts of vengeance or retribution. These learning experiences work out in such a way that the Soul finally becomes informed so as to change its consciousness, to act to improve its Spiritual character and depth.  There is no judgment external to a human Soul.  It is the Living Soul itself, through its steadily evolving C/consciousness, and resulting actions, that always determines the next destination.
the "Ideal" city is reached through a Spiritual Transcendence that will occur during one of the intermediate and unhappy stops that the train continues to carry the evolving Soul.
the man devoted his life to going down a mundane path obsessing over irrelevant goals, grasping for material evidence, and not in Spiritual giving. The ego offers only detours from the Sacred Path to Spiritual Enlightenment. He became self-absorbed with his fantasy fate that was based on material evidence instead of perfecting himself as a conduit of Spiritual Love.  Thus he failed to absorb his Spiritual potential from his earthly experiences. He failed to perform services of every useful kind to those in need. ["But strive first for the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these [material] things will be given to you as well."   Mat 6:33 (NRSV)] By accepting guidance from a model of Spiritual achievement, he could have become that achievement and earned his ticket to the City of Desire.

Applications in "The World:"

if we find that we suffer, one of our tasks is to interpret the Spiritual lessons from the adversity that befalls us.  To not just accept it, but to rise above it, to nevertheless serve others and celebrate joy and excellence, even though we might not always feel it. This character developing investment places a Pilgrim on the path to Enlightenment. Then we become Spiritually uplifted and qualified.  There is no meaning inherent in suffering. We must give suffering a relevant meaning. [Kushner, 1985]
the person who intuitively grasps the True nature of the "Ticket to Salvation," will be found investing themselves in many aspects of Spiritual practice and in services to others.

Implications for Subsequent Material
The following stories related to Love will develop a kind of "Spiritual handbook" for finding the right train.  The sections on power and control have presented the dire implications for trying to play the ego games in the world. That investment surely denies you the ticket to the "City of Desire."  In the following section on Love, you will find guidance to get you to the station on time, recognize the right train when it comes, and know the right place to get off.  Only thus can you transcend all forms of Karma, both good and bad.
